Ambassador (Retd)


As an Indian foreign service officer (with more than 35 years experience), Ashok Warrier has served in different capacities (trade and commerce, administration, culture, education, etc.) in different countries. His last assignment was as an ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from November 2015 to July 2018. Ashok was also concurrently accredited to three other countries (Republic of Congo, Gabon and Central African Republic).

After Retirement Ashok has been writing in various dailies and magazines (of India) on a host of topics ranging from the Congo, to Obor to India’s foreign trade policy. He is also on the advisory board of an educational enterprise which seeks to promote affordable education in second and third tier cities of India.
