Dr. Torben Stühmeier
Torben joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung in 2018 and is a project manager on the “Inclusive Productivity” project. He works as an expert on competition economics, primarily on the effects of market power and market concentration on productivity and innovation. Torben studied economics at the University of Bielefeld and worked as a research assistant at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Dusseldorf. He received his doctorate in economics in 2011 and subsequently conducted research as a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and as an assistant professors for Industrial Economics / Microeconomics at the University of Münster. He continues to teach there as a lecturer in the field of competition and regulatory economics.
