Guest Speakers made insightful remarks on TTIP and ISDS (Investor State Dispute Settlement) at the GED sponsored “Multilateral Regionalism and Emerging Markets – Opportunities and Risks in Global Trade” panel at the Global Economic Symposium in Kiel. Petra Pinzler (Die Zeit) outlined that the number of ISDS was booming, as companies realised they could potentially profit from these cases. On the other hand, Joseph Francois (World Trade Institute) highlighted that the European Commission had already put forward a dispute settlement process to address ISDS.
